Principal's Page
Hello, my name is Jim Reger. I am Freewater School's new principal. If my name sounds familiar, it should as I have been been principal at Ferndale Elementary School for the past 9 years.
I’m very proud to tell people that I’m principal of Freewater Elementary School. Freewater Elementary is a K-5th grade school that also offers P.E., music and library to its students. This is a school where diversity is celebrated and high expectations are the norm in every classroom. The teachers work together to provide students with a well-rounded and challenging academic school day. Students are taught reading at their level of performance to assure that they have the quality instruction they need to learn the curriculum. This is done in a comfortable and supportive environment. Our Oregon State Assessment scores indicate that what we are doing is successful.
I invite you to come in and visit Freewater Elementary School if you’re curious. We also encourage you to come in and fill out a volunteer application so we can utilize your skills and talents to further the education of our students. I’d like for you to know what our mission statement says because these words really explain what Freewater Elementary School is all about:
“Freewater Elementary School is a safe, supportive and caring learning environment where academic excellence is fostered by staff, students, parents and community working together to create a rich educational program. It is our purpose to prepare children to be socially responsible citizens and life-long learners while respecting each child’s unique needs, interests and potential.”
